San Francisco International is a free public school opening in August 2009. We are currently enrolling 9th graders for the 2009 – 2010 school year. The school serves a student population of newly arrived immigrants who have been in the country four years or less and are still learning English. All of our teachers are trained to support students to improve their speaking, writing, and reading skills in English. Working in small groups, students learn academic content, art, music and technology through exciting, rigorous, hands-on projects as they learn their new language, prepare for college, and explore career options for their future. There is no tuition for students! SFIHS is an SFUSD school with open enrollment to all recent immigrant students.
❖Our school provides a safe, supportive environment that prepares immigrant youth for college and their careers.
❖Every student is known well and supported to succeed. We are a small school with small classes. Our team structure allows for personalization, growth and success for our students.
❖Our students are involved in internships, community service, and service learning within the larger community.
❖90% of Internationals students graduate and 90% of Internationals graduates go on to college.
